The Change in our Films Theme

The major change in my work is the big transition from the Mall cop theme we were going to have for this film to the comedy horror that we have chosen now.

The main reason we changed our idea was that it would be easier to create a teaser trailer for a comedy horror because most of it is showing the audience what's there to be afraid of and show them the comedy aspects of the film were doing as well. The horror will interest the audience while the comedy will keep them entertained while the horror scenes are not in effect.

Even though horror has made it's way into our film ideas instead of the police crime comedy we were going to do, the comedy aspect is still there. Every thing I have researched have all been comedy as well so that part still remains for our film overall.

Our major inspiration comes from the horror franchise called Scream, which has had three films now making it a successful trilogy. The film is now getting a fourth film, 10 years later, to start another trilogy. Neve Cambell will be returning along with Courteney Cox and David Arquette  reprising there roles of Sidney, Gail Weathers and Deputy Dewey.

Another film which we took off is the film Scary Movie which spoofs Scream and other popular horror movies. The did this because we wanted the killer to be funny by his actions and what better place to look then Scary Movie.

Scary Movie closely follows the Scream movies but are really silly and makes fun out of the things in horror movies which they always do. For example Scary Movie has the chase scene from Scream where the Killer is in Casey Becker house, in Scream the actress playing her is Drew Barrymore, Drew is the name of the character in Scary Movie who is being chased at the start just like Casey Becker. In the Scream chase scene, Casey never picks up a weapon when she has the chance, a common thing is horror movies which in my opinion shows the audience how strong a character is (that's probably why Sideny survives because she is a strong female character), in Scary Movie, when Drew sees the Killer coming towards her, she looks to her left and sees a variety of weapons like a dagger, a knife, gun, a hand grenade and one misplaced useless item, a Banana. Drew goes for the Banana out of all the choices and runs.

This is funny because she is picking up something which is useless to her in her situation but I think what the Wayne brothers were trying to get across is "At least she tried" as characters in horror film places them self's in unfortunate situations where they will get killed because they don't think and don't fight. The Wayne brothers do another thing in a scene where Drew is running outside and comes across two yellow signs, one of them says "Saftey" and the other one says "Death". Drew goes for death and runs for her life but is soon killed as the killer stabs her boob and she then gets ran over my her parents while screaming for help.
